Here at Performance Studios, we not only learn to play and read music, we grow and have fun with music!
Performance Studios has been a Fergus music school for over 25 years. Director Karen Aitken and her dedicated teachers have brought the joy and benefits of music to many children and adults.
We offer private lessons in violin, piano/keyboard, vocal, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, banjo, drums, bass, flute, recorder, trombone, harmonica, and theory.
We also offer music programs such as Kindermusik, Music For Young Children, Keyfest and Chime/Bell Choirs.
When it comes to your childs development, music matters! Research shows that active participation in a music program is a powerful stimulant for a child's total human development. Kindermusiks purposeful curriculum gives your child the long lasting benefits of an age-appropriate exposure to music and movement. Benefits include language skills, emerging literacy, listening, problem solving, social skills, coordination, balance, self-esteem and musicality!
Child-centered program integrating keyboard, creative movement, singing, rhythm, ear training, sight reading, music theory and composition. Nurturing family bonds and delivering memorable, enjoyable co-learning experiences.
Keyfest is a Performance Studios original program created and taught by Karen Aitken.
This program is a piano/keyboard based program designed to offer a person of any age a carefully structured curriculum of music study which progresses in logical, clearly defined steps leading to the ease of playing, reading and understanding musical principles.
In a small class setting, students will learn to play many styles of music all while learning theory, harmony, to play by ear, improvise, build repertoire and play in a band.
